The Virginia Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) program helps Virginia's women-owned and operated companies certify themselves as WBEs to better compete in government and corporate procurement markets. The program also markets certified women-owned Virginia firms to buyers via an online database and year-round marketing campaign.

The Women's Business Center of Northern Virginia was funded to help any woman in the Northern Virginia area who is interested in starting or expanding her small business. They offer free and low-cost training programs, free one-on-one technical counseling, marketing assistance, access to those who can make loans, help in getting special certifications to do business with local, state and federal government, a resource library, computers and Internet access, and more.

The CBP was started in 1996 to help Route 1 Corridor small businesses. Our primary focus was the SBDC, which served mainly minorities, home-based and micro-businesses. Over the years, the center has grow significantly as has our clientele base. They now manage a million dollar loan fund from HUD for micro-enterprise development in Fairfax County; operate a Women's Business Center component located in Falls Church; started a Hispanic Entrepreneur Project in partnership with the Hispanic Committee of Virginia - Small Business training and Technical Assistance in Spanish.
The U.S. Small Business Administration and the Virginia Department of Business Assistance have established and continue to support statewide Small Business Development Centers (SBDC); there are four SBDCs in Northern Virginia.
