The Embassy of Chile chose NAWBO NOVA Member Carol O'Riordan, a partner in the O'Riordan Bethel Law Firm, LLP, and Francisco Laguna, President of TransLegal, LLC, to brief a Chilean trade delegation on "Mastering Government Procurement Systems in the U.S." The February 4 briefing covered legal contractual issues facing Chilean businesses entering the U.S government contracts markets. Under the new Free Trade Agreement, Chilean businesses can contract directly with Federal and more than 30 state governmental agencies, and US companies can bid for Chilean government contracts. With colleagues here and in Chile, The O'Riordan Bethel Law Firm (http://www.oriordan-law.com/ ) and TransLegal (http://www.translegalinc.com/) are assembling a network of potential US-Chilean business contacts in connection with a planned trade mission to Santiago later this year. Interested businesses should contact Ms. O'Riordan at CORiordan@ORiordan-law.com or 202-822-1720.

promoting advocacy issues for women and
fostering the electoral careers of women in the
county.
“ My role in being on the
board is to promote the organization to women
business owners in Loudoun and be the voice of
women business owners back to NAWBO NOVA”,
says Johnson. “I am very active in making

networking nights and other NAWBO NOVA events
in the county. It is all an extension on
helping women grow and develop their
